Technician Path

General Technicians will learn to complete quality preventative maintenance inspections, which will consist of performing tire maintenance, understanding service intervals, identifying service failures, and performing minor repairs on all company-owned equipment, including tractors, trailers, refrigerated units and support equipment. Experience requirement of 0 to 2 years in the field.

Senior Technicians will have proficient knowledge in all aspects of a general mechanic. This will include developing their diagnosing skills by learning how to understand wiring schematics, emission systems, HVAC on tractor/trailer-reefer, and learn how to utilize a JPRO scan tool that has several OEM software systems, such as Cummins Insite, Diagnostic Link, Bendix, Meritor, and several others to repair Check Engine Light failures. Senior Techs will expand their knowledge on performing more in-depth repairs on all company-owned equipment, including tractors, trailers, refrigerated units, and support equipment.  Experience requirement of 2 plus years in the field.

Master Technicians will have proficient knowledge in all aspects of general and senior mechanics. They must have the ability to work efficiently on HVAC systems and perform electrical diagnosing on systems such as Aftertreatment and DEF systems. They will mentor, assist, and proactively work to support other team members in achieving the organization's objectives by performing routine quality assurance inspections and providing guidance in diagnostics and repair procedures. Additionally, Master Techs will expand their knowledge of performing more complex repairs on all company-owned equipment, including tractors, trailers, refrigerated units, and support equipment. Experience requirement 5 plus years in the field.

Chief Technicians will have proficient knowledge in all aspects of a general, senior, and master mechanic. The Chief Tech or Lead Mechanic will manage shop workflow including customer service, scheduling, planning, and assigning work within their team, while ensuring quality repairs and maintenance in a high-performance work environment. They must possess the ability to mentor, assist, and proactively work to support other team members in achieving the organization's objectives by performing routine quality assurance inspections and providing guidance in diagnostics and repair procedures. Chief Techs expand their knowledge on performing complex repairs on all company-owned equipment, including tractors, trailers, refrigerated units, and support equipment. Experience requirement 5 plus years in the field.

Shop Management Path

Assistant Shop Managers will provide support to shop and terminal leadership. They will negotiate parts and material prices with vendors to determine the best cost value for out-of-service equipment. They will be capable of understanding warranty coverages, file warranty claims, create and close repair orders, perform cycle counts, inventory, review contracts, and issue purchase orders and invoices. Shop Managers identify chronic and repetitive repair issues to determine optimal repair solutions and effectively assign and schedule work to technicians. They support continuous hands-on training to enhance shop performance, service quality, and team metrics and proactively work to assist others in achieving organizational objectives. Experience requirement 5 plus years in the field.

Shop Managers will have proficient knowledge in all aspects of an assistant shop manager. They will manage a safe and productive shop while maintaining industry-leading cost controls, employee staffing, mechanic hands-on training development, and proactively communicate with the operations team about out-of-service equipment. Shop managers will oversee preventative maintenance schedules while prioritizing workflow and maximizing uptime on equipment. They will work to continually improve the maintenance department and the organization's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and innovative ideas and exploring opportunities to add value. Experience requirement 5 plus years in the field.
