Meet the New Memphis Refrigerated Terminal Manager!
Martoniaes Williams, the new Terminal Manager for our Memphis Refrigerated Terminal, has been with the company for over a decade and is celebrating his 11th anniversary this November. Starting his journey at just 20 years old, Martoniaes has grown alongside Knight, both personally and professionally, now managing a busy household with his wife and three children, aged 7 to 13. Known for his approachable and down-to-earth demeanor, he frequently highlights how the people at Knight are his favorite part of the job. Over the years, he has built lasting relationships with colleagues from all walks of life, many of whom he has yet to meet in person—a thought that fills him with excitement.
Martoniaes’ leadership style is driven by his belief in the importance of embracing both strengths and weaknesses, recognizing the value of the diverse backgrounds and experiences each person brings to the table. His focus is not only on expanding the terminal’s fleet but also on fostering a positive culture that encourages growth, collaboration, and mutual respect.
Outside of work, Martoniaes’ life is anything but slow-paced, as his children keep him busy with sports, school, and other activities. Yet, despite the hectic schedule, he and his wife find joy in simple pleasures, like “people watching” during quiet dinners. One of his most memorable moments at Knight happened in 2017, around Halloween when an employee playfully shaved his head to mimic Martoniaes—a moment that still brings a smile to his face today.
As he embarks on this new chapter at the Memphis terminal, Martoniaes is eager to continue building relationships, driving growth, and making an impact, just as he has for the past 11 years.
