Reducing Carbon Emissions
Our Journey
Knight-Swift Transportation’s journey in reducing carbon emissions and our overall impact on the environment have been an important part of our culture for decades. We stand firm in our commitment to reduce the impacts from our operations and continue to keep an intense focus on reducing our CO2 emissions goals.
Charter member of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) SmartWay program
Recipient of over 15 years of SmartWay participation and excellence awards
Piloting programs testing early prototypes & production models of new emissions reducing technologies:

- Met and exceeded our 2025 goal of a 5% CO2 per mile reduction.
- Since 2019, we have reduced our CO2 per mile output by 7%.
